US Markets Today: Volatile after Disappointing Jobs Reports

2 June 2017 (8:52 AM EDT)

U.S. stock futures trimmed some of their earlier gains after monthly employment reports missed targets. Although the Unemployment Rate came down a notch; Nonfarm Payrolls missed estimates in May.

The Dollar index fell steeply after the disappointing jobs date and U.S. stock futures, that had been climbing high through the session, also stumbled.

Earlier, futures were pointing to a record opening in Dow Jones but now, it seems that this index may open near its previous record high of 21,170.

After that, the index and broader U.S. markets will either retreat from higher opening levels of try to climb again.

Watch which way markets move after the initial opening volatility subsides, then trade with the trend.

Good luck, enjoy the session!
