World Markets Today: Choppy, Range Bound Start of the Week

This week, global financial markets will witness 4 big central bank meetings; one of Wednesday and 3 on Thursday. Obviously, from currency to bond markets will be highly volatile and affect global stock markets too.

The biggest of these event, policy announcement from the Fed will come on Wednesday. Although market experts are expecting a rate hike from the central bank this week, the Dollar index is trading lower which raises doubts on these expectations.

This volatility is already reflecting in stocks today. From Asian markets to U.S. and European stock futures- all numbers are mixed and small range bound.Although SGX Nifty (futures of India Nifty) are having a huge rally of 200 points as the ruling party wins important state election with big majority. Indian markets will remain close today for a local festival, Holi and tomorrow, one can hope to witness fireworks in these markets.

Overall, global stocks are expected to remain narrowly range bound and choppy as various geopolitical events, are also increasing uncertainty in various regions.
