World stock markets are continuing with a mixed trend which is dominated by regional or local factors.

U.S. stock markets closed with big gains in their overnight session but Asian stock markets are trading with some positive and some negative numbers. SGX Nifty is flat, waiting for Indian stock markets to open and take trend.

U.S. stock futures are slightly negative, indicating that their current range may continues. European stock futures are mixed. German stock markets were closed yesterday so today, DAX futures are sharply higher but FTSE 100 (U.K.) futures are below the red line.

All this means day traders will have to focus on their local index and its intraday trend. So check the intraday support and resistance levels of your local index, watch what kind of trend develops within those levels then trade with the short term trend.

Volatility in global stocks will continue. The overall trend remains sideways in a wide range.
